"I got a job welding at a local race shop in Concord, MI. When I was a freshman in high school. When the owner started racing his own car I went to the track with him. Soon, I started going to the races with another local driver that traveled a bit more. I raced with him all through high school traveling to different asphalt tracks in Michigan and Indiana. I started as a gopher and wrench runner, and eventually became his crew chief and focused on tires. In 1988 I bought a street stock from another local racer and went to Bulter Motor Speedway in Quincy, MI. And started my own racing career." GOALS... I am working hard to develop a way to return to the cockpit of my Hot Rod. There are no products on the market for paralyzed dirt racers. I know we will get it figured out. The hard part is securing the sponsorship needed to take my team to the next level of dirt racing. Don’t refer to me as the paralyzed guy that still races... Due to my job and the fact that our shop is an hour away from where Scott and I live I am unable to make it to the shop as often as I would like but I do whatever I can whenever I can at the track. I started racing when I was about ten with my cousin Sean Blue working at his shop on his Hobby Stock in '97 he started running late models and the dirt track bug had bitten me hard. I had a few stints as crew member for several late model teams before I hooked up with the Dowdy Racing guys in 2003. GOALS... I would like to stay on with the Dowdy Racing team and make a go at the BIG times of dirt track racing with them and help Mark reach his goals as a top notch dirt track driver. HERO'S... Racing hero would be Dale Earnhardt but the ones that I really look up to are my dad Jack Clark and Grandpa Clark. |

My parents took me to my first race when I was 6 weeks old. I have been racing ever since then. I started customizing Hot wheels cars using clay & play dough when I was 5. I was always around the garage when my dad was working on his racecar at home, and I went with him when the cars he was racing were at someone else's home. I was on Gene Chupps crew when he traveled with the NDRA circuit. I also crewed for Jerry Inman when he drove for local car owner Weldon Martin. I basically grew up with racing and though that everyone's dads had a racecar! I have worked on cars for dozens of drivers and still do. I learned how to tweak on a racecar from some of the best. From the very next week forward I have driven or owned race cars until I was injured in a work related accident in 1971. In 1972 a friend and I formed our own team. From then to present time I have either owned or served as"crew chief" on other teams. Including "Crew Chief" for Hall of Fame Dirt driver Jerry Inmon, of Bruce, Mississippi in 1982 on the rough & tumble NDRA circuit. GOALS... Mark & I have been friends every since he lived in Bama right after he graduated school. I helped him some then and he had some success. Now I hope to be part of his come back season. I feel that he will show many people that there is no reason to give up on your dreams because of a stumble on lifes road. HERO'S... Jerry Inmon ...
